After trading into the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft to choose a wide receiver, the Panthers used their seven selections to select strong players in each round. The first two picks made by GM Morgan were highly regarded choices. The Carolina Panthers need to completely reassemble their roster after finishing last season with the poorest record in the NFL. After sacrificing their first-round pick to choose quarterback Bryce Young in the 9th round of the 2023 draft, they were left without one this year. The Panthers needed assistance at tight end, wide receiver, edge, and cornerback in 2024.
Astutely, they traded up into the first round with the Bills to choose a big-bodied, dynamic wideout, and they utilised their top picks this year to secure playmakers to support Young’s success. RB Brooks was viewed as one of the top backs in the draft and a steal at #46.
