Canberra Raiders secured a crucial victory…

In a thrilling NRL showdown, the Canberra Raiders secured a crucial victory over the Sydney Roosters, edging them 14-12. Despite facing multiple setbacks, including two sin-binnings of their captain Elliott Whitehead, the Raiders demonstrated resilience to hold off a late charge by the Roosters. Canberra’s defense was remarkable, especially given that they played 60 minutes with 12 men due to Whitehead’s time off the field.

The Raiders’ star Xavier Savage contributed significantly, scoring a long-range try that extended their lead. Even though the Roosters fought back with two tries from Daniel Tupou, a missed sideline conversion by Luke Keary in the final minute cost them the chance to take the game into golden point.

This victory boosts the Raiders’ chances for the finals, although they still need favorable results from other games to secure a top-eight finish.
