Nick Foligno Calls for More Afternoon Games for Blackhawks

Nick Foligno, a forward for the Chicago Blackhawks, has raised eyebrows with his suggestion to schedule more afternoon games. Joining the team in 2023, Foligno believes that these early games could bring a special atmosphere to both the players and the crowd. Although not typically common in the NHL, Foligno sees afternoon matchups as a chance to engage more fans and energize the United Center.

“Afternoon games have a unique feel,” Foligno shared. “The team feeds off that different energy, and the fans enjoy it too. It’s great for families to attend. More of these could really benefit us.”

This comes as the Blackhawks, led by general manager Kyle Davidson and head coach Luke Richardson, continue their rebuilding journey with young stars like Connor Bedard. Foligno’s suggestion for additional afternoon games points to a strategy that could boost fan engagement and create a different game-day experience, which might be beneficial for both the team and the supporters.

As the Blackhawks focus on rejuvenating their roster and expanding their fanbase, Foligno’s plea for more afternoon games could offer a refreshing change to the team’s schedule. It might even redefine the fan experience at Blackhawks games.
