MLB Shock: Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw Unleashes Fury on Astros: ‘They Still Cheated!'”

For a little while, it seemed as though Clayton Kershaw had gone over the Houston Astros’ prior cheating scandal involving sign-stealing. The best top-of-the-batting-order hitters the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher has faced were recently questioned. According to Dodgers Nation, Kershaw appeared to be about to give credit to Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman when he abruptly brought up the Astros’ incident and charged them with cheating.

“The best teams… leadoff-wise, Altuve and Bregman were good,” Kershaw said, “but they cheated so that’s not really the same.”

The MLB world has moved on from the Astros cheating scandal for the most part. Sure, Bregman, Altuve, and even former Astros players such as Carlos Correa and George Springer still receive negative reactions from fans at times. However, players do not discuss what occurred in 2017 all that often.

However, Kershaw is obviously not over it. Naturally, his resentment is justified given that the Dodgers may have lost a World Series due to the Astros’ scandal. For those who might not recall, following the 2019 season, the Astros’ sign-stealing incident was made public. The Astros allegedly pounded on garbage cans in the dugout to alert batters to incoming pitches, and they were charged with stealing signs using technology.

The Astros have won two World Series in the past decade. Houston formed a dynasty of sorts, finding plenty of success. However, the Altuve and Bregman-led team’s legacy will always be in question as a result of the sign-stealing scandal.
