Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has expressed worry about Trent Alexander-Arnold possibly leaving the club sooner than expected. Carragher, now a respected football analyst, believes Liverpool must prioritize keeping the influential full-back at Anfield.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, Carragher emphasized Alexander-Arnold’s unique role within the club. “He’s more than just a right-back,” he noted. “Trent embodies what Liverpool stands for — the academy, the city, and their style of play.”
With his contract running until 2025, there’s growing speculation around Alexander-Arnold’s future. Although he has been a consistent figure in the squad since his debut in 2016, several top European clubs are reportedly monitoring his availability.
Carragher cautioned that losing such a key player would reflect poorly on Liverpool’s ambitions, especially with Arne Slot stepping in as the new manager. “Letting Trent go would be a big mistake and suggest a lack of vision for the future,” he remarked.
