André Onana Nears Manchester United Exit as Trabzonspor Agree Shock Loan Deal

Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana is edging closer to an unexpected move away from Old Trafford after a verbal agreement was reached with Turkish side Trabzonspor over a season-long loan.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper, who arrived at United last year with high expectations, has slipped down the pecking order under new manager Rúben Amorim. With Altay Bayındır now trusted as first-choice and summer signing Senne Lammens providing additional cover, Onana has found his game time severely limited this season.

Trabzonspor, who still have time to strengthen with the Turkish transfer window open until September 12, have seized the opportunity. Reports suggest the deal not only guarantees Onana more regular football but also includes lucrative financial terms, potentially giving him a bigger payday than he currently earns in Manchester.

For United, the move offers a chance to ease wage pressures and streamline their goalkeeping department, while Onana is presented with the chance to revive his career in a league where he would immediately become one of the standout names.

The final step remains in Onana’s hands: he must now decide whether to accept the offer and seal a quick-fire switch to Turkey before the

deadline.
