JJ McCarthy, the rookie quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, has not yet participated in an NFL regular-season game. While training for the 2024 NFL season, the Michigan Wolverines football program’s first-year pro sustained a torn meniscus injury in his right knee. In the interim, he is spending his time off the field recovering from surgery to fix that injury. His girlfriend, Katya Kuropas, has always been there for him even when he is unable to play. The couple celebrated their sixth anniversary on Tuesday, and Kuropas sent McCarthy a touching note.
“6 years but feels like I’ve known you forever,” Kuropas captioned a photo of herself and McCarthy together on Instagram Stories. I adore you and am incredibly thankful for the life we have created thus far. I can’t wait to be with you forever! Rebecca Aizin of People.com claims that McCarthy and Kuropas have a long history together, having initially met in high school.
McCarthy proposed to Kuropas on a beach in January 2024, and the two were engaged. That was also after Michigan defeated the Washington Huskies in the National Championship Game, and McCarthy helped the Wolverines capture the national championship. The Vikings selected McCarthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft a few months later.
