Steelers Ink Deal with Former Central Pa. Standout Following Rookie Camp

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed wide receiver Julian Fleming, a former high school star from Central Pennsylvania, after he earned a spot through a tryout at the team’s rookie minicamp.

Fleming, who made his name at Southern Columbia High School, was once ranked among the top receiver prospects in the country. He launched his college football journey at Ohio State, playing four seasons before transferring to Penn State to close out his college eligibility. Although his college performance didn’t quite match his early hype, Fleming remained a reliable presence on the field.

Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 210 pounds, Fleming showcased enough during camp to impress Pittsburgh’s coaching staff and secure a contract. His blend of size and experience from top-tier college programs puts him in a strong position to fight for a role as a reserve wideout and possibly as a special teams contributor.

Fleming’s signing marks a return to his home state, as the Pennsylvania native now looks to carve out a spot in the NFL with the Steelers.
