In a swift and unexpected move, the Chicago Bears have added towering defensive back Nahshon Wright to their roster, just 24 hours after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings.
Wright, who stands at an impressive 6-foot-4, offers unique length and athleticism to the Bears’ secondary qualities that could give him an edge in a crowded position group. A former third-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, Wright spent two seasons in Dallas before a short stint in Minnesota.
After being waived by the Vikings on Monday, Chicago acted quickly to bring him in, looking to bolster depth and competition in their defensive backfield.
Though his NFL career has been a bit up and down, with injuries and limited playing time, Wright has flashed potential. He’s appeared in 20 games, notching 30 tackles and two pass breakups.
Now with the Bears, Wright gets a fresh opportunity to prove himself and potentially become a valuable piece of Chicago’s defense moving forward.
