The Canberra Raiders have reportedly stepped back from a potential deal for a Super League star, citing an exorbitant transfer fee as the main reason for their decision. Danny Walker who had attracted considerable interest from the Raiders, is believed to have commanded a fee far beyond what the NRL club considered reasonable, leaving negotiations at a standstill.
The Raiders had been actively exploring options to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming NRL season. As the club continues to navigate through the challenges of roster management, including player injuries and the potential departures of key players, they turned their attention to the Super League, eyeing high-caliber talent from the northern hemisphere.
