Missoula, MT – In a significant boost to public safety, the Missoula Fire Department (MFD) has been awarded a $7 million federal grant to enhance its infrastructure and better serve the community.

 

*Grant Details*

 

The grant, allocated through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program, will support the construction of a new fire station and the renovation of existing facilities.

 

“This funding is crucial for our department’s growth and ability to provide top-notch services,” said MFD Chief, Jeff Brandt. “We’re grateful for FEMA’s support.”

 

*Infrastructure Upgrades*

 

The grant will fund:

 

1. Construction of a new Station 6, replacing the current outdated facility.

2. Renovation of Station 1, enhancing operational efficiency.

3. Upgrade of communication systems and emergency response technology.

4. Expansion of training facilities to accommodate growing department need.

 

The infrastructure enhancements will:

 

1. Improve response times and emergency services.

2. Enhance firefighter safety and training.

3. Increase community outreach and education programs.
